Texas Designation Survey Guidelines

August 7, 2023

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) released the Texas Designation Survey Guidelines to established a standardized structure and process for designation surveys in Texas. The guidelines provide elements on planning and conducting surveys for facilities and surveyors. The guidelines go into effect on January 1, 2024.

DSHS is providing virtual training for facilities and surveyors on the new survey guidelines. As a Texas Perinatal Services surveyor, your participation in the training is required. Please review the schedules below for the surveyor virtual trainings. You may attend the scheduled training that works best for you.
